The BMW 328 Hommage

Dubbed the BMW 328 Hommage, this ultra-lightweight sports car was built to mimics the principles used to create the original 328. The 328 Hommage weighs in at a "light" 1,720 pounds, accomplished through the use of carbon fiber-reinforced plastic BMW engineers of that era kept the 328 light through the use of aluminum and magnesium. Both cars are cut from a similar cloth to achieve a lightweight end result, even if the methods to get there are very different.

Many design elements are shared between both cars. The original 328 was one of the earliest BMW vehicles to show off the now familiar kidney grilles. Those grilles nearly jump off the face of the 328 Hommage. Out back, the wide-set taillamps help close off the wide stance that runs the length of both versions.

BMW updates The 1-Series

BMW:
BMW will be updating it's ailing 1-series with what it claims to be a stronger challenge to the Audi A3 and new Mercedes-Benz A-class when sales start in September.

BMW:
Developed on the same platform as the new 3-series, the 1-series will appear first as a five-door hatch. It will be followed by a new three-door early next year, and will eventually spawn a new generation of up to six model variants.
BMW:
The exterior has been beefed up by a more prominent shoulder and side swage line. And to provide the new 1-series with a larger tailgate aperture than the old model, the tail-lights are pushed to the extremities of the rear end.The question now is,will it sell?

Zagato and Aston Martin's Love Child

They say the 1960 Aston Martin DB4GT Zagato was an automotive legend. A lightened DB4, designed by the famed Italian Design house Zagato, only 20 of them were ever produced.

So what other better way to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the original with the new Vantage V12 Zagato. Where the original Zagato Astons were dictated heavily by the Italian design group, this new Zagato version is more of a design collaboration with Aston's noted in-house design team.

If you want one for your own stable, better call Aston directly; although not officially on sale, the V12 Zagato will be built on a bespoke basis in a "strictly limited" run.
